February’s Member of the Month: Danny Yttredahl
Each month, we choose a member who has come a long way in either mind or body, or both! This month, it was not hard for us to choose. Danny Yttredahl has made huge improvements since he and his wife, Jess, joined back in September. His strength and endurance have skyrocketed and with an RX Grace and a 3rd place finish in the October Paleo Challenge, it is clear that Danny is on his way to huge progress at CFTC!
1. How did you get involved with CrossFit?
I’ve been curious the past year or so and when CFTC opened me and Jess were ready to make the change.
2. What was your first main class WOD?
My first main class WOD was Bacon Bits. Also the first day of the paleo challenge. I knocked off 3 minutes at the end of the month!
3. Tell us about your first on ramp class.
My first on ramp class I was just expecting an introduction and maybe some demonstrations. Not the case. Closest I’ve come to throwing up.
4. When did you realize CrossFit was for you?
It didnt take long at all. I was all in before on ramp was through. Seeing improvements almost daily makes me want to know how much better I can be.
5. What are your short/long term goals?
My short term goal is to go as much as I can, and continually improve. Long term is stupid double unders. RX everything!
6. What is/are your favorite wod/movement? Least favorite?
My favorite was definitely RXing Grace. Being pushed by everyone and the feeling when it was over is the reason I’m doing this. The worst is anything I can’t RX. It’s tough to not be able to do a WOD as prescribed. I know it will all eventually happen though.
7. What is your biggest accomplishment?
Any time I get a PR is great. Getting kipping pull-up after never doing a pull up of any kind my entire life felt really good.
